Michael Shenefelt was raised in Vienna, Virginia. His love for the theater was born with his stage debut as Paddington Bear in “The Adventures of Paddington Bear” in the third grade. He recently graduated from the University of Virginia where he studied Theater as well as International Relations and Spanish. At UVa, Michael had the fortune of training under Robert Chapel, Richard Warner, Kate Burke, and Marianne Kubik. In addition to his UVA training, Michael continues to study classical voice with internationally recognized tenor, Mr. Russell Penney.
As 2013 winds down, Michael is proud to be a member of the Actors’ Equity Association and eligible to join the SAG/AFTRA union. This year Michael has shot commercials and industrials for Publix, Keurig Coffee, Grow Financial, Honda, Christ for All Nations Church, Sonicare, and Reebok. He has also starred in a number of student and non-union films, some of which have been screened won awards at film festivals. His latest project is to produce and star in a short film he wrote himself. Keep a look out for more details on this new endeavor. Production on the film is slated for spring of 2014. May this fall and winter season be filled with continued learning and growth.
Outside of the entertainment industry, Michael enjoys tennis, swimming, wakeboarding, Latin music, Spanish cinema, wine and Trivial Pursuit.
